Finance Department
The Finance Department is responsible for maintaining all accounting records for the Town of Gates. The Town Comptroller, Stephanie Soto, is appointed b by the Gates Town Board. This department is responsible for the daily financial transactions of the town, which include maintaining all accounting records, payment of bills, reconciliation of bank statements, and monitoring cash flow and investments. The Comptroller works with each of the department heads and the Town Supervisor in the preparation of the annual town budget. This department works with state and independent auditors to ensure that all town financial transactions are in accordance with approved accounting principles.
Under the direction of the Comptroller is Stacey Raines Finance Clerk, whose responsibilities include Accounts Receivables / Payable s, Vendor Setup and Liaison for departmental expenses along with pre-audit of PO’s and short forms.
