Welcome from Town Supervisor-Cosmo A. Giunta,

Gates, New York is a dynamic town in Monroe County with an interesting past and a bright future. The town was incorporated in 1813 and was the last remnants of Northampton founded 1797 in Ontario County.

Rochesterville was a village in Gates until Nathaniel T Rochester presented the application of incorporation to the Legislature which was approved 1817 and by 1822 the name was legally changed to Rochester.
